Fixing your neck pain while driving or sitting… is a 4 step process.

Step #1 Sit Tall– sitting tall brings your head back over your shoulders.                           When you slouch, your head moves forward, and a general rule of thumb to remember…for every inch your head slouches forward of your mid-line or centered position…it doubles the weight of your head on your neck. It increases the stress of your head on your neck… two times.

Step #2 Neck Retraction– bring your head back over your shoulders and push your head against  your cars headrest, relax, repeat…when you can try it out in your car.

You can do this sitting at your work station too,you just have nothing to push against. Some people will stand tall against a wall so they have something to push their heads against.

Step#3 Shoulder Retraction– squeeze your shoulder blades together, relax, repeat.

Step #4 Shoulder Shrug– Bring your shoulder up towards your ears as high as comfortable, relax, repeat.

These simple, effective posture activities can be repeated multiple times a day to loosen up your tight neck muscles and relieve your muscle tension headaches.
